Daniel has been a member of the Forest Hills Swim Team over 20 seasons. He started swimming for Forest Hills in 2003 when he was 7 years old and continued until his final season in 2014. As a swimmer for Forest Hills Daniel took the 15-18 breaststroke team records and placed county in all his other events. During this time Daniel also swam for his high school team at Alhambra High School where he was Team Captain for his Sophomore, Junior and Senior year.
Daniel went on to the University of California Santa Cruz where he achieved a B.S. in Technology and Information Management. During his time at Santa Cruz he continued his swim career at the NCAA level as a member and Team Captain of the UCSC swim team. This is now his 15th year as a coach for Forest Hills and he continues to pass on the Beaver tradition to the younger kids. His time with the team as a competitor was a rewarding experience but Daniel now enjoys encouraging the younger kids to strive for similar goals. In his free time he also enjoys hiking, photography, and general tom foolery.
Nate has been a coach at Forest Hills for three years now and is in his second year as an assistant coach. He started swimming in 2011 with the Forest Park Flyers and swam with them until 2021. In 2022 and 2023 he swam in his final two rec seasons with the Pleasant Hill Aquatics where he holds the team relay records as well as a few different pool records including one at Forest Hills. During this time period he swam under Coach Daniel at College Park where he became a highschool team captain in his senior year and broke the school record in the 200 yard freestyle relay with Coach Jackson.
Nate is going to Diablo Valley community college and plans to transfer to San Jose State University where he plans on getting his journalism degree. During his second season on the DVC swim team his and Coach Jackson’s 200 yard free relay came third at their state meet. He looks to bring his knowledge and eagerness to learn and compete to Forest Hills this season!
My Name is coach Jackson. I have been swimming for 15 years. I started my swimming career on MCST all the way until I was 18. At MCST I set records in the 50 free, 100 free, and 100 IM. I swam at College Park for all 4 years of high school and during that time period I had gained a great friendship with Coach Daniel and Coach Nate. While in high school Coach Nate and I got the opportunity to go to state for our 200 free relay and beat our school record together. That moment has to be one of my favorite moments of my whole swim career. After high school I moved over to DVC where I played water polo and swam both years. This year I was the leading scorer for DVC water polo and I was an individual swimmer at state. I swam 50 free, 100 free, and 200 free at our State meet in Santa Rosa. At this meet our 200 free relay that also had Coach Nate on it placed 3rd. I have fallen in love with the sport of swimming and wish to bring that love of swimming to the next generation.
